Opel owes its current high safety standards to many years of consistent development work. A chronicle of the most significant development in the past 70 years is presented here.
2001 - With two front and side airbags, the Pedal Release System, Active Head Restraints and five three-point automatic seat belts Opel offers a high safety standard in the small car class.
2003 - A new lighting technology is being offered in the Vectra and the Signum: The Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) bi-xenon system, which combines for the first time a swiveling curve light with a cornering light for intersections and tight turns.
